Finally I’m cataloguing linens this afternoon and these are just so wonderful that I had to put up some piccies. They are a set of six sheets, all with the monogram SD but each one worked a little differently. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a matched set of six antique linen sheets, all in excellent condition? Boy I’m good at what I do 😉 !!
The sheets date from the very early 20th century and were made on a narrow loom, with the fabric joined at the centre with thousands of tiny hand stitches. The linen is a gorgeous creamy white colour and is slightly rustic and oh so scrummy!
These sheets would make superb curtains, blinds or loose covers and are also suitable for light upholstery – gorgeous for a headboard.
