Really good vintage beds are never easy to find and I won’t settle for second best. But there’s no question, these two are goodies!

Vintage French double bed with soft green velours upholstery and perfectly “shabby chic” distressed painted frame.  I rarely buy upholstered beds as they usually don’t tick all the boxes but this one is truly fabulous.

It is so much more unusual to find a bed with upholstered side rails – and what a difference it makes.  This bed dates to around the 1950s but has hardly seen any use – a guest bed I would think.  The upholstery is fresh as a daisy and shows very little use.  This bed is a standard 4ft 6in double size.

And on to bed number 2.  A very stylish antique oak bed dating from around 1910 I would say.  It’s channelling an interesting Classical meets Deco vibe!  Golden oak, simple carvings, austere but elegant.  Also full size 4ft 6in double.
