Here we are at 5th January and we’ve just returned from our first brocante of the year. The weather was beautiful so it seemed likely that the traders would decide to brave the cold temperatures and we were lucky, there was a pretty good showing.
Passing the Cote de Beaune as we leave the village; the light is always fabulous.
Through the flat and boring bit…
until we reach vineyards again
and the pretty town of Givry.
I love this archway, it’s such a mad confection.
I was really on the hunt for textiles this time as my stock is low and I did manage to truffle out a few treasures and am popping over to one of the dealer’s homes this evening to see some linen sheets that were deemed too beautiful to bring to the market so fingers crossed!
And of course no buying trip would be complete without coffee and croissants, of course!
